PGP Setup Instructions
Step 1: Downloading PGP from the Net
- Click Here to download PGP V6.5.8
- When a "File Download" window pops up select where you would like to save the file to on your computer.
- Click OK.
- The download should proceed. How long it takes depends on your connection to the internet. Generally on a high speed connection it takes between 1-5 minutes.
Step 2: Installing PGP on Your Machine
- Once you've downloaded the PGP installation file to your computer, find it, and double click on it to begin the installation process; simply follow the prompts.
- One the installation process is complete restart your computer.
Step 3: Setting up a PGP Key
- A new icon (one with a lock) should appear in your toolbar (generally this is in the lower right hand corner). If not you can start the program by going to: Start -> Programs -> PGP -> PGPKeys in Windows.
- You will be asked if you want to set up a key. Select yes. Like the installation process, prompts will appear that walk you through the process of setting up a key. At one point you will be asked to send your key to the server. When you get to this option select NO.
Step 4: Sending Your PGP Key
Once a key is set up, you need to send us your PUBLIC key. The public key is used on our SSL server to encrypt emails generated by web forms.
- Open PGP. In Windows you would go to: Start -> Program -> PGP -> PGPkeys.
- Once the program is open click your key to highlight it.
- On the menu bar (on the top of the program) select Keys -> Export.
- Save the ".asc" file to your desktop (or another location that is easy to get to).
- Email this key to the email address that was given to you prior to setup, as an attachment. We will then contact you once the key has been installed on our server.
